Friday Morning Quiet Time

It was such a beautiful morning that I decided to have my "quiet time" out on the patio. I love sittting out there listening to the fountain, the birds, and the dogs chasing critters!! I started a new Bible study on Wednesday nights. It is called Becoming More than a Good Bible Study Girl. It is by Lysa Terkeurst. So far it seems really good.

Beautiful Friday Morning!!

This morning was absolutely BEAUTIFUL!! It was cool...low humidity. I went for my 4 mile walk and this is what the sky looked like on my way to walk.

I'm lovin this new cookbook!!

ok...I love cookbooks!!! I just wished I cooked out of them more!!! I need to clarify...I love cookbooks that have pictures!!! So...the other day I was at this bookstore and fount this
Sandra Lee, Semi-Homemade dessert cookbook. I love it!! I'm really excited about making these pumpkin cakes. I already have the pans and now that I know how to work with fondant...it will be FUN!!! I also like these "eyeballs". I'm thinking that Daniel will just love them!

What shall we do with these?!?!?

It's really bad when Kristen and mom go shopping through the clearance aisle!!! The other day Kristen called and said she was at Hobby Lobby. I asked her to look for something and then called her back and asked her to look for something else. Well, I was only a few stores away...so I said I would just come there. Well, we started going down the 80% off aisle and came across lots of goodies. This is the problem...Kristen and I have been reading too many blogs about different crafting ideas and thus are minds are just spinning. Kristen thinks we need to put candles in our bathroom once I get it painted. We started looking at all of these candlesticks and couldn't make our minds up so we pretty much bought all of them!!!! They were only like $4 and $5 !! We hope to paint them. Be watching for updates!!

Poor Ginger!!

The other night it had been raining...Randy was cleaning the pool (He is our automatic pool cleaner...not a paid handyman) and it was time to go to bed. Alan went out to turn Randy off and the girls (that would be Holly and Ginger) went out with him. Well, Holly came back in to go to bed...but Ginger didn't show up for a while. When she finally came in...Alan said "I think she just got sprayed". We are not talking about sprayed by a water hose...we are talking about being sprayed by a SKUNK!!! What to do...what to do...Alan said "she sleeps in the garage tonight" I said "she will die...it is just to hot" Alan says "she sleeps outside" I say "she will BARK all night". I finally said "I will give her a shower". So...it is about 11 pm and I get ready to turn on the shower. Holly walks right in the shower...she isn't even the one that needs a shower. We have such WEIRD dogs!!! Anyways...I end up with Ginger in the shower and scrub and scrub her. She must not have gotten sprayed too bad because the odor wasn't overwhelming like it had been the past two times. Yes, she has been sprayed at least 2 other times!! You would think she would learn!!! Anyways, this picture of her is the next day...after having a good shower and drying off over night. I only wish I had taken a picture of her face after she had been sprayed. Always something fun going on at our house!!!!!

Enjoying the pool!!!

So...we are really glad that we opened the pool this year. We have really been enjoying it!! I have probably been in the pool more this year than any other summer!!! Alan came up with the idea of sitting in a chair in the pool...so you never know what you are going to see! I think all of the kids have enjoyed cooling off!!

First Tomatoes!!!

Well, it's about time that I get caught up!!! There will be a few random blogs until I actually catch up.
